Print behavior chart
It was a good weekend, we got some pre-winter things done, and played outside while we could. My next not-a-book is crawling forward, and crossed over 10k words. I want to finish it by the end of October, so I can do the NEXT book (which I am SUPER enthused about) as a NaNoWriMo. I REALLY wanted to get three books written this year. (My last one is still doing okay, too - not actually as well as the last one, but the other two books in the series are doing AMAZING, so my bottom line is really good.)
Guppy alternates between little terror and little angel, still loves Kindergarten, and got all her art supplies put downstairs because she keeps drawing on things she knows she shouldn't. (WHY?!)
Now, a snack and down to words.
Why is life so much?
EDIT: Okay so that ended up being really dramatic. She's fine, physically, and she's willingly talking to both her mother and the therapist.
I finally found a Nintendo Switch and immediately put it on layaway. It's the Splatoon 2 edition bundle so that's exciting; I've never played Splatoon, having never owned a Wii U, but I've heard it's pretty great so I'm excited. And of course, I also got Breath of the Wild. My mom thinks she's going to pay for of this and it be my Christmas present but there's no way I'm letting her pay for it all.
And Spanish tonight, which I'm already anxious for, although that may be just because of everything else.
After my book on Heinlein went beyond a length that most academic publishers could manage (it may be around 500 pages) I decided to go with a Crowdfunding publisher called Unbound. They can keep the price down to affordable levels.
Of course I would love it if you bought the book:
ebook and hb £35
But what I really need is signal boosting. Please copy and paste.
After the finance is raised to publish the book the author’s share of subsequent proceeds will be divided between The Foundation for America’s Blood Centres http://www.americasblood.org/, and Con or Bust: http://con-or-bust.org/

Does anyone have ideas about how I could have more diligence in sticking to the habit tracker? Or bullet journal alternatives to the habit tracker grid? I feel like a failure for not being able to make the grid work for me.
patrons also got inks, but additionally - early access.
if you'd like access to comic pages three days early (wowie!) please check out my patreon. backing for any amount gets you that perk!
in other news i'm going to attempt to make it to the micro massachusetts furcon tonight. i'm not vending, just going to hang out and see the wonderful erin play the piano as she likes to do. but the con is raising money for the Trevor Project which, if you've never heard of them, are a crisis center/hotline for lgbt youth. that's a -really good- organization to raise money for, especially in these times. so if you're local, try to swing by the con and leave a little something in the charity basket!!
beyond that, the weather is nice and autumnal. oh, and if you're a coffee lover? try subscribing to rhetoric coffee. there's a bag coming with my art on it and the blend in it is really choice. ive had it iced, black, white, hot, sugar, no sugar and it's just. a really delish coffee.
and that... is all i have for you this week, my friends. next time i see you we'll be gettin SPOOKY.
Free one-card readings are still available, as are longer readings. Tips are always welcome! So are signal boosts.
I'm doing the readings over here on Dreamwidth.
Crowdfunding Creative Jam
Everyone is eligible to post prompts, which may be words or phrases, titles, images, etc. Prompters may request a specific creator, but everyone else may still use that prompt if they wish. Prompts may specify a particular character/world/etc. but creators may use the prompt for something else anyway and post the results. Prompters are still encouraged to post mostly prompts that anyone could use anywhere, as this maximizes the chance of having creators make something based on your prompt. Please title your comment "Prompt" or "Prompts" when providing inspiration so these are easy to find.
Prompt responses may also be treated as prompts and used for further inspiration. For example, a prompt may lead to a sketch which leads to a story, and so on. This kind of cascading inspiration is one of the most fun things about a collective jam session.
Everyone is eligible to use prompts, and everyone who wants to use a given prompt may do so, for maximum flexibility of creator choice in inspiration. You do not have to post a "Claim" reply when you decide to use a prompt, but this does help indicate what is going on so that other prompters can spread out their choice of prompts if they wish.
Creators are encouraged, but not required, to post at least one item free. Likewise, sharing a private copy of material with the prompter is encouraged but not required. Creative material resulting from prompts should be indicated in a reply to the prompt, with a link to the full content elsewhere on the creator's site (if desired); a brief excerpt and/or description of the material may be included in the reply (if desired). It helps to title your comment "Prompt Filled" or something like that so these are easy to identify. There is no time limit on responding to prompts. However, creators are encouraged to post replies sooner rather than later, as the attention of prompters will be highest during and shortly after the session.
Some items created from prompts may become available for sponsorship. Some creators may offer perks for donations, linkbacks, or other activity relating to this project. Check creator comments and links for their respective offerings.
Prompters, creators, and bystanders are expected to behave in a responsible and civil manner. If the moderators have to drag someone out of the sandbox for improper behavior, we will not be amused. Please respect other people's territory and intellectual property rights, and only play with someone else's characters/setting/etc. if you have permission. (Fanfic/fanart freebies are okay.) If you want to invite folks to play with something of yours, title the comment something like "Open Playground" so it's easy to spot. This can be a good way to attract new people to a shared world or open-source project, or just have some good non-canon fun.
Boost the signal! The more people who participate, the more fun this will be. Hopefully we'll see activity from a lot of folks who regularly mention their projects in this community, but new people are always welcome. You can link to this session post or to individual items created from prompts, whatever you think is awesome enough to recommend to your friends.

( From the moment she summoned the power of Aku's essence flowing in her veins to form the time portal, Ashi knew she would not last in the Samurai's time. )
Now on to more important things: analise010 is a wonderful, awesome person who I have been lucky enough over the last -- near-year? Something like that. She is great, and she is also having problems with jobs. Her goal is to become an actuary -- which requires a test, which requires a truly ridiculous amount of money to charge people.
She is looking to raise money, and offering Tarot/Oracle readings. Her readings are great, so if you have a little extra to spare, please take a look and see if you can help.
I missed the signups for spook_me which is kind of disappointing but I'm not going to worry to much about it. I'm going to focus on Inktober (which I'm still really excited about) and not worry about signing up for other things. Even though Halloween is my favorite holiday and I really like doing fandom things to celebrate it. OH WELL. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Speaking of which, since it's so much easier to post things on instagram and twitter, I'll probably be posting Inktober things there before posting here. nan_the_ghost and heartfelt_ghost. They'll definitely get here! But not with the immediacy that those two platforms get.
Yesterday, I took it out on the town with me and I managed to go to the gym*, write 1200 words on my not-a-book, colorize a portrait, answer emails, go shopping*, and cook a roast.*
(*These items may or may not have been facilitated by the new
I flamed out badly on digital painting once before, but this is a whole new level of comfort and portability (my biggest prior complaint was that the separate tablet took a lot of setup and a big work surface, plus I was tethered to my computer...).
I am on a mission! I want to make my Apple Pencil viable, and I need some practice with it. I also want to whittle down my Portrait Adoption gallery a bit. SO! I am offering the DEAL OF A LIFETIME. I will color anything in my gallery - at NO EXTRA COST. That means, you could get a portrait colored to be your character for as little as $5. I'll even make minor tweaks at that time. (Very minor!) Use the site to 'request customization.'
$0 / $99.00 0% done!
In other news, we had a windy night, and now it looks like impending winter. Eep.
I will leave you with a list.
